If you’ve ever wondered why the bride stands to the left of the groom it’s due to the fact that the groom would need his right hand available for using his sword to fight off ex-suitors or even those trying to save a captured bride.

Q: Which side does the bride’s family sit on? Do you ever wonder why the two families sit on opposite sides of the church? Fathers would often present their daughters as a peace offering to opposing tribes/families; as a result, the two sides would sit apart from each other in order to avoid any feuds during the ceremony. Once the unity was finalized, however, the feuding was resolved.

A: Typically flower girls range in age between 2 and 8 (although 2 year olds can be a handful). Junior bridesmaids are 9 to 15 years and bridesmaids are 16+ years.

A: Print something like “Adult Only Reception” on our invitations.
Q: How early should we register for gifts
A: Typically it’s good to begin your registry 4 to 6 months before your wedding. Remember that retailers are frequently adding new products to their inventory so you can always check back closer to your wedding day to make sure there aren’t any new items that you’d like to add to your registry.
Q: Which leg does the garter go on?
A: There is no right or wrong answer here. Put your garter on either leg, just be sure if you have a toss garter to put it on second so your new husband doesn’t toss the garter you wish to keep.
Q: What side does the boutoniere and corsage go on?
A: Place the boutonniere on the left side. The corsage is placed on the left wrist.
