The Spring season marks a time
of new beginnings and re-growth. If you have chosen to have your wedding during
the Spring season, check out the ideas below for ways to spice up your wedding!
Color Choices
You can always go for the traditional pastels such as
pink, baby blue, pale yellow, or you could take it up a notch and try lime
green, gold, or rich purple to add pop and pizzazz. Pair these bright colors
with appropriate contrasting colors to create a romantic and elegant feel to the
atmosphere.
Wedding Dress
Choosing your wedding dress should also take into account
accessories that will help keep you warm. Using a shawl, wrap or scarf would be
a good idea and consider tossing in some color on your dress like a sash to
match your bridesmaids’ dresses!
Favor Ideas
Think about the following as favor options:
o Birdseed
o Flower bulbs
o Wildflower seeds
o Birdhouses
o Decorated eggs
o Chocolate bunnies
o Decorated baskets
o Flower shaped candles
o Potpourri
o Designer Cookies
Ceremonial & Reception Ideas
Release butterflies or doves during the ceremony for an
elegant touch.
Use urns, candelabras, greenery and even flower baskets bring
the blooming outdoors to your wedding day. Wreaths in a heart shape are another way to use flowers as
decoration. For your reception tables consider lace, polka dots or event
plaid prints accompanied with coordinating solids on the chairs. When it comes to the menu look into seasonal
vegetables like baby carrots, new potatoes, and baby asparagus or even create a
fruit bar full of a variety of fruits cut in heart shapes.
Keep in Mind
Since many weddings occur during the summer months, shop
around for spring discounts. Many vendors are not booked from the New Year
throughout spring and may offer specials for your spring wedding. It never
hurts to ask!
While spring does bring May flowers, don’t forget about those
possible April showers. Consider the possibility of showers in your wedding
planning. An outdoor ceremony or reception could be underwater in the event of
a spring storm, creating a Plan B is a good idea. Also, plan your choice of
shoes accordingly (satin does not hold up well in the rain), and plan to have
umbrellas on hand just in case.
