Why brides choose Asheville
• 48.6 percent said it seemed like a good location.
• 67.6 percent got information about their wedding online and booked venues and activities themselves.
• 91.9 percent of those married in Asheville honeymooned elsewhere.
• 91.4 percent said visiting major attractions was the top activity, followed by eating at a local restaurant (90 percent) and shopping (72.9 percent).
• 70.3 percent said the majority of their wedding guests stayed in hotels and bed-and-breakfasts.
• 60.8 percent said their guests stayed two nights, while 24.3 percent said their guests stayed three nights.
• 85.1 percent rated Asheville an excellent wedding destination.
