2008 Wedding Trends
Want to know what wedding trends are
in store for 2008? Keep reading to find out what you can expect to see for
weddings in 2008.
Bold Colors
The popular colors this year are bolder than ever including bright greens, yellows, and
blues. These colors will spread across the wedding from the cake to
centerpieces to even a splash of color on the bride's gown.
Metallics
If you're not so much into the bold colors and want to add a touch of
sparkle, metallic colors such as silver are becoming popular. Try adding a touch
of silver to your wedding and watch how the scene becomes elegant, yet modern.
You could even use silver in your bridesmaids' dresses.
Vintage
While you're thinking about silver, think about the vintage inspired
looks as well. We have all seen how vintage clothing has made a comeback
recently, so why not use it in your wedding. You could wear a vintage inspired
gown, vintage wedding rings, candleabras, and more throughout your wedding decor
to give the guests something to remember.
Dress or Dresses
Brides are no longer happy with one wedding gown on their big day, or
even one wedding hairstyle. They are looking for two or even three dresses to
celebrate their big day in. One dress for the ceremony and one for the reception
is becoming more common. This trend makes it even easier when gown shopping;
when you can't decide between two dresses, buy both!
Destination Weddings
Thanks to shows on TV spotlighting destination weddings, couples are
finding the destination weddings more appealing. While the planning and costs
involved are even greater considering your wedding venue could be half way
across the world, the destination wedding offers a getaway opportunity of a
lifetime for you and your guests. Just don't forget to have plenty planned for
your guests since they will be in unfamiliar territory!
Stationary
Stationary this year is going more stylish as couples express their
creative side. Traditional wording on the invitations are even thrown out the
window as couples create not only a unique invitation design, but unique wording
also. Adding ribbons, crystals, beads and more offer other ways to invite your
friends and family to the wedding.
Going Green
It's no surprise going green has infiltrated the wedding scene too.
From invitations on recycled paper to eco friendly rings, taking your wedding to
the greener side will benefit the world, and possibly your wallet! For great

Hi Tech
In 2008 you can look for weddings and planning to go more Hi Tech.
It's likely you'll see more weddings on sites like YouTube and more and more
couples are creating wedding websites for their guests to get details about the
wedding, sign the guestbook and even answer polls. Some couples are even
going so far as to ask guests what they'd like to eat at the reception in the
form of a poll. This involves the guests even more and makes them feel apart of
the planning process.
